Join us for a video presentation of The Gospel Coalition’s 2018 Women’s Conference titled Listen & Live: Promised Grace for Rebel Hearts. We will be listening as speakers including: Jen Wilkin, Kathleen Nielson, John Piper, and Jackie Hill Perry, walk us through key passages in the book of Deuteronomy. Friday from 5-9pm and Saturday from 8am-5pm.
Is there a cost to attend the conference?
No. We wanted to make this event accessible to every woman who wanted to attend and didn’t want cost to be a reason that someone was unable to join us.
Will meals be provided?
Yes, we will be providing dinner on Friday night and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. If you have any dietary restriction, please indicate them on your registration.
Is there childcare for this event?
While we at WBC love children, there is no childcare provided for this event. Our Goal is to create a space for women to be able to dive into God’s word and spend time engaging in the teachings. (Nursing infants are welcome)
Is there anything I can do in preparation for the conference?
Yes! First, you can be praying that God will be preparing your heart and your mind for this conference. Second, if you click HERE you can download a copy of the booklet that you will be receiving at the conference. It is full of information about the book of Deuteronomy. Third, you can click HERE and download a copy of a plan to help you read through Deuteronomy in 12 weeks. None of these are required to attend the conference, but they are all great ways to help you get as much from the weekend as possible.
What should I bring?
Bible, Writing Utensil, and Notebook (optional).
Join us in the gym on Wed., Nov. 21 for good fellowship, a family-style dinner, games and a time of giving thanks. Doors will open at 5 PM, and dinner will be served until about 7 PM. Sign up at the Information Table if you plan to attend. Invite your friends and neighbors as well. Click Here to RSVP.
On Sun., Nov. 11 apple dumplings ($3) and whoopie pies ($1) will be for sale in the kitchen. In addition to traditional and peanut butter filled whoopie pies, the following are available: pumpkin (filled with white or cream cheese), and banana (filled with cream cheese or peanut butter).
This year’s goal is 1,000 boxes! Mailing labels and empty boxes are available in the foyer for those who would like to pack boxes at home. Boxes you have chosen to fill at home should be dropped off on the island in the kitchen by no later than Sunday, November 4th. If you would like to make a monetary donation toward shipping and box-filling items, please note “OCC” on a gift envelope or on the memo line of a check. We are currently collecting thread, buttons and empty medicine bottles (remove labels), which we will turn into sewing kits. We could also use more washcloths, soap and crayons before the Packing Party.
