Welcome to the Winfield Baptist Church Web Site
For 130 years our church has been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and reaching people of Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties in Central Pennsylvania. Our church was born in a revival and we believe that God is still able to open the windows of heaven and shower blessings upon his people, as in fact He is now doing. We have a full range of services and many programs for people of various ages. We welcome you to visit the various links in our page and even listen to audio tapes of our pastor, John Thornbury. Our Theme, "The Bible Preaching Church for the Whole Family." summarized what we are about as well as anything. In a day of mind boggling social changes, and culture that increasingly has no fixed morals, we stand confidently upon the authority of the Bible which we believe is the Word of God. In this book, we have God's wonderful plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. |
Our ministries are geared to the whole family. We understand the pressures that the family unit is under in this day. Our worship services and activities are designed to strengthen the roles of fathers and mothers, and attract children and youth as well. Also, those who have no strong family ties, such as widows and singles, are an important part of our fellowship.
